The Week to End All (Swim Season) Weeks

When I said to buckle up in my earlier email....I meant it.

First off - we may not have left with a win yesterday, Cudas (Atholton 215 - Swan Lake 268), but there is so much to be proud of. Starting with the cheers! The team spirit! The good sportsmanship! The support and resilience when things didn't go as we hoped! I'm endlessly proud of our coaches and our swimmers. Also, I'm doubling down on my most recent Woots to Mike Reed. Finally, although it's nice not to have to work as hard during away meets, I still think we throw the best swim meet party.

On to this week:

  • Last Regular Practice; Warrior Classic (warm-ups 4:20-4:40, meet starts at 5:00); There are unfilled volunteer slots - please sign up ASAP, especially if you have not been able to volunteer as much as others this season.
  • Tuesday: Straehle Practice Only
  • Wednesday: No Practice; Straehle Invitational
  • Thursday: Practice for Divisional participants only
  • Friday: Practice for Divisional participants only
  • Saturday: Divisionals at Five Oaks followed by the Team Banquet at 5:00 pm!
Divisionals! Entries are attached to this email. Volunteer positions are open - please help us fill them ASAP.
  • Like last year, Divisionals will be at Five Oaks Swim Club (1817 Frederick Road in Catonsville). Meet start at 9:00 am, warm ups are from 7:40-8:00 in lanes 5-8. If your swimmer is a little, please don't stress about making it to warm-ups. We're in the early slot because our travel distance is shortest.
  • T-shirts will be available to purchase on-site. The names of team members who are participating in Divisionals will be on the back of the shirts. They will be custom printed. That's all I know at this point.
Weekly Woots:
  • Britney Sutton again for all of her help on the volunteer front! Trust me - there is a lot of coordination that goes into covering all of our volunteer obligations. Always thankful for families that sign up early and often -and especially grateful for Britney for helping to fill the tough remaining slots.
  • Sara Venugopal (and children) for serving as our ribbons masters during the season. They are always magically in the family folders almost immediately after each meet!  The Venugopals are always one of the last families to leave a meet, as they wait on the ribbon stickers.  Woot to you all!
  • Jenn Killion and Jen DiPietro who manage our stop watches! It's a huge help to not have to worry about keeping track of them during the season!
Hang in there, Cudas! The banquet awaits us at the end of the week!
